I am a 30+ year veteran of the Adult Beverage industry.
Starting in 1988 as a restaurant and bar manager before moving into the wholesale business in 1993. 
I have held various sales and management roles for Tarrant Distributors (now RNDC),
Glazer's Wholesale (now Southern Glazers) and Mexcor Distributors
before starting Clark Liquor Brokerage in January 2010. 

I am an expert on the subject of Whisk(e)y, with an emphasis on Single Malt Scotch Whisky, Irish Whiskey, and Japanese Whisky. 

I was Johnnie Walker Salesman of the Year for Texas in 1998.
I frequently conduct consumer tastings including the inaugural Houston Whiskey Social in March 2016,
an October 2015 presentation for Arran Whisky at Trinity Hall in Dallas, TX and
 Whiskies of the World in Dallas, Austin, & Houston in 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013.
In 2019 I presented the Japanese Whisky Masterclass at WoW in Houston and Austin. 
I presented MacLeod's Isle of Skye to the Clan MacLeod at their 2013 AGM in San Antonio, TX and
I led a tasting for the Robert Burns Supper at the Houston Club in 2014 & 2016. 
In 2019 I led the Robert Burns Supper at Kiran's Restaurant in Houston.
I have conducted a series of Japanese Whisky seminars for Spec's Liquor in Houston and Dallas.
I began teaching my "Eight Glasses" series of classes at the Texas Wine School in January 2019.
Additionally I frequently host private tastings for individuals and companies.

I have visited over 30 Malt Distilleries in Scotland and many of the Whiskey Distilleries in the USA, Ireland, and Canada.

In an effort to continue expanding my knowledge, I received my
Level 1 certification in Sake from WSET in August 2016 and WSET Sake Level 3 in August 2017. 
I recieved my WSET Level 1 Spirits certification in September 2018 and Level 3 Spirits in August 2019.

I published my first book, "Japanese Whisky Handbook" in October 2017.
I published my second book "Whiskey Tasting Journal - Bourbon & Rye" in March 2020.
